Senior Center Rules and Etiquette

Welcome to Hartland Pickleball. We hope you enjoy our facility and all those who play here. Please observe the following rules to help everyone maximize their fun.

Rules will be changed as needed.

  1. We follow USAPA rules. Play on if your body or racquet hits a wall or a seat.
  2. Presently, instructional play for beginners has priority during the 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Tuesday and Friday time slot. Beginners will set up all courts, measure nets, and otherwise prepare all courts for play as part of their instruction. Other players or helpers may use open courts during this time, but must sit down if beginners need that court space. At 12:30 PM all courts must be vacated.
  3. the 12:30 to 2:30 PM session begins seperately. Those who were not playing in the 11:30 to 12:30 session have priority at 12:30 to take the courts and begin to play.
  4. During any session, including evening sessions, play will be limited to one game to 11 (win by 2) when others are waiting. When that game ends, all four players must exit the court. The next players waiting in line will then play on that court. To "stand in line" players will be asked to sit on chairs, put their paddle on numbered towels, or use a similar technique to make clear who is next. While in line, shuffle yourself if you want a particular partner by moving down to where they are in line.
  5. Be nice, ethical and courteous. We are here to have fun.
